Madman Anime Festival – Perth 2017

Madman Anime Festival took place over a huge weekend at the Perth Convention & Entertainment Centre, in Perth WA on the March 4-5, 2017.
The event played host for stars and celebrities of the anime culture, and included exhibitors, Artists, Theatre screenings, cosplay and dance performances.

MadFest, as many have called the event, played host to the Preliminary round of “Madman National Cosplay Championships 2017”, in which the winner qualifies to participate in the finals in Madman Anime Festival, hosted in Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on November 4, 2017.

Highlight appearances included Erica Mendez (USA) who is the voice of Ryuko Matoi from Kill La Kill, Crispin Freeman (USA) The voice of Alucard from Hellsing, amazing International Cosplay Star from Malaysia Angie, Australian Cosplay Star KniteMaya, and many more!

AnimeLab Arena celebrated the Australian premiere of the movie, Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale, and was screened in Japanese with English subtitles. This was presented with a special introduction from the events guest before the screening.

This screening was complimented with the exhibition, The World of Sword Art Online with character standees, art stills, special talent messages, an in-depth look at the characters from Ordinal Scale and more on display!

This exhibition appeared for the first time in Australia at Madman Anime Festival Perth, and will also then appear at Madman Anime Festival Brisbane (June 10-11, 2017).

Want more in 2017? Madfest Brisbane will be held on June 10 and 11th at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. And Madfest Melbourne will host their event on November 4th and 5th.

The event was supported by Madman, AnimeLab, Canon, Sony, BushiRoad, SBS PopAsia, and Tokyo Otaku Mode.
