Evolve Pop Culture Expo took place over one day at the Perth Claremont Showgrounds, in Perth WA on the April 14, 2018.

The one-day event that has a huge focus on cosplay, played host for stars and celebrities of various mediums, Exhibitors, Artists, prop makers and suppliers.

Highlight appearances included ACE & Wildcard Competition Judge PikaPi, Competition Judge AdamantiumLoz, ACE & Wildcard Competition Judge Dadpool Cosplay, Cosplay Ambassador Gypsy Geek, Cosplay Ambassador and MC Terranous Cosplay, and Official Photographer Collin Kerr Photography! Together we made up Evolve Cosplay Central.

Myself with Roguelin Game & Cosplays as Android Majin 21 (Dragon Ball Super) and GyspyGeek, who is dressed as Hope Summers (X-Men Universe).

The Cosplay scene here has been constantly improving over the years and this year was unsurprisingly, a riot of dazzling costume designs and photography opportunities, and a jaw-dropping spectacle of creative ingenuity.

The competition ACE (Australian Cosplay Elite) played host to test your craft at a competitive level. Winners of the first round will qualify for the 2nd round, with The winning prize of Evolve’s 2018 ACE competition received an amazing three-day pass to PAX Australia 2018 (valued at $165) in Melbourne, (October 26th to 28th) including flights and accommodation!

The Wildcard Cosplay Competition was a much more relaxed competition that allowed cosplayers to exhibit their costumes, and  score some cool prizes and a gorgeous-looking trophy!

I was invited to come on board as the Official Convention Photographer for Evolve, and had displayed a selection of all the amazing entries that were sent in for the Cosplay Photography Competition. Winners of the photography competition were awarded cash prizes, as well as prizes sponsored by Siren Visual and Madman.

Along with the Cosplay Photo Gallery featuring an amazing range of different styles, I had also organised a pop-up studio for attendees to choose from and capture cosplayers or just have a nice family picture throughout the day. Fellow photographers shooting that day included RedScarf Cosplay & Photography, Vestiige Productions, and Photografifi.
